CGMA Level Design For Games

Platformer
For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a charming little floating city with platforming elements.
Goals I had for this Assignment:

Use 'Cloud' character with flight mechanics
-
Encourage exploration
-
Non-linear level flow
-
Draw the player towards the castle objective using Vistas and Breadcrumbing.

Create a nice flow for platforming across floating islands






City Streets
This time we were tasked with blocking out a small Asian-inspired city with interconnected streets.
Goals I had for this Assignment:

Utilize ALS Character Mechanics.
-
Use parallaxing to create the illusion of the level extending beyond it's borders.
-
Develop beats and imagine NPC interaction and quests
-
Create interconnected spaces that could be a small part of an open world.






EGYPT
This assignment involved crafting a linear level inspired by the theme of Egypt, with a specific focus on The Mummy.
Goals I had for this Assignment:

Utilize ALS Character Mechanics.

Block out a simple level with interesting spaces and composition.
-
Develop beats and imagine a narrative.
-
Place discoverable items
